The temporary exhibition facility consisting of sea containers is located in Porta Westfalica Barkhausen opposite the former Hotel Kaiserhof. The exhibition is largely based on the biographies of former prisoners of the three satellite camps of the Neuengamme concentration camp in Porta Westfalica.
In addition to a multi-part container installation, there are clearly visible steles in the outdoor area, which make an important part of the exhibition content accessible to visitors outside the opening hours of the exhibition.
On the information boards in the outdoor area and in the presentation inside the container facility
you will find eyewitness accounts, photos and background information about the prisoners, the places and events.
You can use QR codes and your smartphone to access more in-depth content on the information boards. When you leave the container facility, you can set a sign of light in memory of the people imprisoned at the time.
People with hearing or visual impairments can receive supportive information during opening hours at the Infopoint or via mobile phone using QR codes. Access to the interior of the exhibition is barrier-free.
The video installation in the container is available in English translation if required.
